Default Unusual method to create internet shortcuts

I have an unusual system of internet shortcuts that I commonly use. This method seems to offer me better control over shortcuts, and even allows me to easily copy them onto a thumbdrive for use at a remote computer.

While at the desired website, I copy the http address at the top of the screen (I'm using Mozilla Firefox); I then right click on the desktop or in a folder to create a new shortcut. There I do a Ctrl-V to paste the http address into the new shortcut. I then click "next" and enter the name for the site, then get a generic icon I can easily change later.

I often use a photograph of the person running the website to create an icon out of it, as a quick way to recognize the identity of the website.

Many may not realize it but you can enter various words into the icon's properties comment files which can later be searched for using the Windows search feature. If you keep copies of your icon shortcuts in a specific folder you can then right-click on the folder to start a search of the folder for your descriptive comment in order to quickly find the icon for the website you wish to access.

Default

You know, in IE, you can just right-click inside a web page and select "Create Shortcut" to put a shortcut to that page directly on the desktop.
