I currently have two sets of lights on my garage that run 24-7, security/safety lights. They are both using cfl floods to reduce costs and run 24-7 to avoid the warm up problems. I could put them both on sensors or timers.
Most of the solar solutions seem to involve using systems with a 6v battery that seem to be largely unreliable in cold weather/not so sunny, climates. I have considered using a 12v marine type battery, solar or charger maintained, power inverter. Any ideas? __________________

After posting that, I think what I would like to know is what size solar panel would I need to recharge an automotive/marine 12v battery during the day?
