Default Zork

Ok, time for some of the old timers to step up here.

Who remembers Zork!?!

It's still around and kicking... The original versions (the first 3) are available for free downloads at the Infocom web site.

I remember!

I can do you one better....I used to play Colossal Cave, also known as Adventure, back in my UNIX days before PCs even came out.

Yikes! Adventure is from the late 70's too. Heck, do you remember Maze? All of these things were written for the PDP-10 systems...

I actually went to school for all that old junk. People ask me what kind of education I have regarding computers. I have to laugh when I tell them how I got my start with DEC a billion years ago. And I honestly didn't learn a thing in school that got used for work.

I just did some searching and found this page about the history of Zork. Wow, have the times ever changed!

It was offered in "games" in the first Windows systems, and eventually got dropped, but has had many incarnations, and is now also available to play online. Tri Peaks Solitaire

I have played more than this, but my current total is 62,948 games played, with an average of $11, with a total of $712,061 won.

This is a very difficult game to maintain a winning average. It is also quite addictive!
