Just ran a test and published the following to my blog. Thought it may be of use here as well.
In my testing on Windows 7, Seagate’s Momentus XT 7200 rpm/SSD hybrid hard drive (2.5-inch form factor) derived a Windows 7 Experience index score of 5.9. That’s identical to the Windows 7 Experience index score achieved by the Western Digital 10,000 rpm Raptor drive in the same system. A typical SSD, by comparison, achieves a significantly better Windows Experience score in the same system. Conclusion: The Momentus XT resulted in neither a statistical nor a subjective improvement over the WD Raptor in my single-unit testing. The Intel 160 GB SSD, by comparison, achieves an Experience score of 6.9 and overall feels snappier, although not markedly so. __________________
