I agree with this completely, and that's why, for me personally, it's not worth the cost.
For many of my friends and family that are not tech savvy and do little more than use their PCs for web browsing, e-mail and the occasional document, I think the iPad is much more worth while.
Interestingly, I remember about 5 years or so ago, Bill Gates doing a demo of a prototype tablet PC that to me was eerily similar to the iPad, but that never went anywhere, and few people even seem to remember it anymore.
